Rare Mint Lionel #6464-650 D&RG Yellow Roof Box Car/ OB

This Item has been sold. This sale has been certified as Final by the Attorney.

This is the #6464-650 Denver & Rio Grande Box Car that Lionel made circa 1965. Type IV body with AAR trucks. Rare, very limited production example with Yellow-Painted Roof; the companion piece to the #6464-375 Red-Painted Central of Georgia Box Car. Our Opinion is that it is generally in Mint Condition, no signs of use, but there is a minor flaw with one of the ladder rungs (clearly visible in one of the Pictures). Many of the Rare Type III and some Type IV Box Cars were reject bodies from the earlier 1960s. The single rung in question on this piece is bent; however, the car was factory-painted over this minor flaw; it is NOT an after market touch-up. The Original Picture Box with proper adhesive sticker for the number is in (8+) Condition, minor wear. All Original in our Opinion. Please add $40.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
