Lionel Prototype (?) #6555 Blue Dow Chemical Tank Car

This Item has been sold. This sale has been certified as Final by the Attorney.

This is a #6555 Type Blue-Painted Dow Chemical Tank Car. This particular car came from the Collection of the late Harry Lovelock, co-author of several Books with us including our Guide to Lionel Trains, Volume V, Rare and Unusual. Harry purchased this car circa 1980 from a source that had also supplied Harry with several other Prototypes and "Odd" Variations that have not been challenged as to their originality. Harry was confident that the item was "right", and it sat on his shelf for 20-plus years. Unfortunately, we have not been able to discover any other confirming source. Our Opinion is that it is generally in Excellent Plus Condition, very strong paint. No Box. Please add $20.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
