Scarce 1959 Tan #1609 'Shipper' Set Box Only

This is the very scarce Tan #1609 'Shipper' Set Box only that Lionel made in 1959. Most 1959 Outfits were available upon Special Order with 'Shipper-Quality' Outfit Boxes for Customers that did mail-order business; typical Flap Packs, because of size, would be too prone to damage during the Freight process. Furthermore, 'Shipper' Boxes typically contained Component Boxes for all models!!! Contents would have been #246/1130T Scout Steam Engine and Tender, #6162 Gondola w/Canisters, #6476 LV Hopper, #6057 Caboose, plus Track, Transformer and Peripherals. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY BIDDING ON THE ORIGINAL SET BOX. Kindly review Lot 35 for another example of this Outfit. All Original in Our Opinion. Please add $20.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
