Lionel #1609 Freight Set w/Scarce Tan Corrugated Set Box/OBs

This is the #1609 Freight Set that Lionel made circa 1959. Included are the 'Scout' #246 Steam Engine with Headlight and Magnetraction, #1130T Streamline Tender (body only), #6162 NYC Gondola with Canisters, #6476 Red Lehigh Valley Hopper, #6057 Red SP-Type Caboose, plus Track and #1016 Transformer. Note there are four distinctly different #1609 Set Boxes; note most examples came in a Yellow, hinged-top, Type A Set Box with unboxed components. This example is the very scarce Tan, single-tier corrugated Outfit Box with interior Perforated Boxes for shipping via US Mail. Components/Interior Boxes can be upgraded; the real Collector value to this Lot is the Outfit Box. What you see is what you will receive. Please add $25.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
